Looking for some new colouring pages to print and enjoy? You’re in the right place! 🎨
I’ve been drawing mandalas for years, and one of my favourite things about them is how easy it is to get completely absorbed in the process. You don’t need to be an experienced artist, and there’s no “right” way to colour them. Pick a few colours you love, put on some music or your favourite podcast, and enjoy some creative time.
I’ve rounded up 15 free mandala colouring pages and designs from my website, including inspirational quote mandalas, butterflies, peaceful patterns, and a few of my favourite older freebies.
Some are simple and beginner-friendly, while others have more intricate details if you’re looking for a longer colouring session.
All of the colouring pages in this post are free to download for personal use.

What Supplies Do You Need to Colour Mandalas?
The best part about colouring mandalas is that you don't need a huge collection of fancy art supplies.
Here are a few options you can try:
Coloured Pencils
Coloured pencils are probably my favourite choice for detailed mandalas. They're easy to control and allow you to build up colour gradually, add shading, and blend colours.
They're especially useful when you're working on tiny sections of an intricate design.
Fine-Tip Markers
Markers give you much brighter, bolder colour than pencils and can make a mandala really pop.
Look for fine or ultra-fine tips when you're working with detailed designs.
Tip: If you're printing your colouring pages yourself, put a sheet of scrap paper underneath your page to protect the surface underneath from marker bleed-through.
Gel Pens
Gel pens are fantastic for adding little details after you've finished colouring.
Try using metallic, glitter, white, or pastel gel pens to add highlights and decorative touches.
Digital Colouring
You don't have to print these pages!
You can also import the designs into Procreate or another digital drawing app and colour them on your tablet.
This is a fun way to experiment with colour palettes without using up any paper or art supplies.
What Paper Should You Use?
Regular printer paper works perfectly well if you're using coloured pencils or light colouring tools.
If you're using markers, I recommend experimenting with heavier cardstock or marker-friendly paper to reduce bleed-through and give yourself a sturdier surface to work on.
For detailed designs, I personally prefer having a smooth surface so my pencils and pens can move easily across the page.
A Few Mandala Colouring Tips
There's really no wrong way to colour a mandala, but here are a few things you can try if you're not sure where to start.
Choose a limited colour palette.
Try choosing three to five colours before you begin. Repeating those colours throughout the design can make the finished piece feel cohesive.
Work from the centre outward.
Starting in the middle and gradually working your way out can make the design feel less overwhelming.
Try repeating colours.
If you use a particular colour in one section, look for another symmetrical section where you can repeat it.
Don't worry about perfection.
Seriously. This is colouring, not an architectural blueprint. If you colour outside a line, keep going.
Experiment!
Try unusual colour combinations, metallic accents, gradients, or even a completely monochromatic mandala.
Make Colouring Part of Your Creative Routine
One of my favourite things about colouring is that it doesn't require a huge block of free time.
You can colour for ten minutes with your morning coffee, take a page with you while travelling, or spend an entire afternoon filling in a complicated design.
And if you enjoy drawing as well as colouring, mandalas can be a great way to start exploring your own patterns and designs.
I've created lots of free and paid resources for people who want to experiment with mandala art, including mandala drawing templates, workbooks, colouring books, and Procreate resources.
