Hey guys, today I’m sharing a time lapse video I made of me colouring in one of my mandala drawings using Sharpies and coloured pens!
I had a stressful week and just wanted to do something relaxing and mindless to help calm my mind. Colouring was just the thing, especially in this palette of blues and purples. I also added some silver to make it pop.
Pairing the video with meditative music makes it almost as relaxing to watch as it was to make!
Colouring and drawing mandala art has proven to be a great way to relieve stress and anxiety. And with all that’s going on in the world right now I think we could all use a little more of that!
You can colour along with me if you like, by using one of my many free colouring pages or download my free 6 page mini colouring book below.
How does coloring help relieve stress?
- It creates a distraction from your worries.
- It promotes mindfulness and being in the present.
- The ease and low stakes help relax the brain.
- It may bring up feelings of nostalgia and happy childhood memories.
Of course it may not relieve stress for everyone, in fact it might do the opposite! But if you haven’t tried it yet, why not see what happens? It could become a fun new hobby for you. There are lots of amazing colouring books for adults on Amazon and your local bookstore.
I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing my latest mandala art and watching the video I made. Make sure to subscribe to this blog and my Youtube channel as well to see what I do next!
